From Worcester and Central Massachusetts, a straightforward highway route takes I-290 East to I-495 North, then I-93 South toward Stoneham and Melrose. Depending on traffic, navigation may suggest an alternate route using the Massachusetts Turnpike, I-95, Route 128, and I-93. Allow additional travel time during weekday commuting hours, especially near major interchanges and the Greater Boston area.
Travelers coming from Providence and Rhode Island can follow I-95 North toward Boston before connecting with I-93 North. Continue north of the city and take the signed route toward Melrose and Stoneham.
